Sportsmans Warehouse "In Store Pick-up"

Ya wanna know whose prices generally beat Sportsmans -- BiMart!
They just don't have a huge stock, especially primers. Ours is pretty good for Hornady and Sierra bullets, and pretty good for powder. I always check them first. jd

I have ordered a rifle and had it sent to the local store last year.
Also did the same with some rifle ammo , ever try to find 17 Hornet local ?
Have used this service at Bass Pro also.
Saves a bunch on shipping and Hazmat fees .
They have started the same BS that cabelas started with the take a # and stand in line cr*p at the gun counter.
Was just last week noticed all the ammo is behind the counter now so you have to stand in line just to grab a box of ammo.
Not a good way to keep the customer coming back ,I know I am probably done with them.
“Just to grab a box of ammo” sadly is the reason that the ammo is starting to wind up behind the counter…
Too many thieves in the world today…. :(

I just bought 2,000 Hornady V-MAX bullets from the fanciest brick and mortar store (Scheels) for 20.99 per 100 which was cheaper than ANYWHERE else I could find.....fancy that!
That's a good price. I usually buy over 1000 to around 2500 53vmax bullets at a time and have them shipped. But one time my buddy and I went to Blue Collar Reloading for a road trip. While we did this we took the opportunity to meet dusterdave face to face. Now we're friends and have shot pdogs in Wyoming together.

Hey, as always I think stores kind of reflect the current management of the store. We have some great managers at my hometown Sportsmans in Fairbanks and then some pretty crappy ones too. I’ve bought a few things, guns included ordering on line and picking up in the store. Last time I had to about fight the manager to get my military discount. Never had that problem before, new crappy manager.
Take Care

I envy someone who has an outlet selling at current competitive prices. Shipping and hazmat on primers and powder are steep.

There is a place in NH I go to on my way to VT to shoot. No income tax, no sales tax and cheap likka

Back in the early 90's, I tried to order a case of 5.56 ammo from Sportsmans. I lived in MD. at the time. They refused to ship, saying I was too close to DC.
Hello? Md is not DC!
I haven't spent a dime with them ever since.

Although I usually purchase reloading components on line, I am lucky we have both Sportsman's and Cabela in Grand junction CO The only time I had a rifle shipped was for my oldest Grandson., through Sportsman's. I ordered it at the GJ store to be shipped to the Aurora CO one. He picked it up, paid for it with gift cards I had purchased and sent to him, did the paperwork, passed the background check, came back 3 days later and took it home. It is Colorado law that all ammunition be kept in locked cases now. Colorado has become a very gun unfriendly state. My last firearm purchase was from Grab-A-Gun in Texas. I ordered it on the phone, payed with my Credit Card, and gave them the name and address of my local FFL holder. When it came I went to his shop, did the paperwork, paid the background check fee, and came back 3 days later and picked up a CZ 457 MTR with nice wood and that shoots lights out. I usually buy cleaning supplies and camping stuff locally, usually at Sportsman's but almost nothing else related to shooting or hunting locally.

Sportsmans put the ammo behind counter due to theft. I know employees there. While it sucks, they were loosing a lot of ammo per week. Something had to be done.

Academy did the opposite. I worked the gun counter there. We all said it a stupid idea due to theft. Academy reasoned that an increase in sales would offset any increase of theft.
They were dead wrong. At the next annual inventory, we were short over $100K in ammo. The idiots still have it on the floor.

Had to stop by Bass Pro today to look for something for my wife.
Sure enough, they have all the ammo shelves behind locked glass doors now.
At least the shelves are still on the floor and you can see whats on the shelf.
