It would be nice if this forum had spell check in the editor.....It would help us look smarter!

I believer the correct grammar is; "it would help us look 'more' smarter" :D

Yes we do have a spell-checker. Just click on the "Spell Check" button below and to the right of the text entry box:

Yes, a grammar checker would be much more useful than a spell checker. Then again, proofreading goes a long way.

The spell check we have on this site is quite good. The 'Preview' feature gives the opportunity to see what you wrote looks and a chance to read it (proofread) one more time.
It's the abbreviations that one runs across that can cause confusion......and the symbols as used in the answer quoted above. I have no idea what they mean or if they are referring to my answer above it. Does he think I am square, are these boxes to be checked, does he agree or disagree with something. This is my fault for not knowing this but I'll blame it being of an age where computers and their language didn't exist til much later in life and I did not jump on board when they did. It took me a year of reading the 'classified' section until I figured out what 'ttt' meant.

And in the public arena, don`t forget to use the pronunciation check.

Examples: Lapua, Leupold, Sako, etc. ::)

Dump IE and download Mozilla Firefox...it has a spell checker built in just like Word.

I only use IE if I have too, for example work computers. ;)

STP,People on the east coast seem to have their own pronunciation and I always want them to call Oregon and listen to the sweet young lady say 'LEE-O-POLD,"can I help you?".

So how come they say, "Loopold" on their TV commercials?
The OP was concerning spelling..............pronunciation is a whole other world and where you are living in it.....good luck with that one..lol

Because they don't have German or Finnish tongues. This is the right way...
