It would be nice if this forum had spell check in the editor.....It would help us look smarter!

Eye ran this poem threw it

My chequer tolled me sew

A chequer is a bless sing
It freeze yew lodes of thyme
It helps me awl stiles two reed
And aides mi when aye rime

To rite with care is quite a feet
Of witch won should be proud
And wee mussed dew the best wee can
Sew flaws are knot aloud

And now bee cause my spelling
is checked with such grate flare
Their are know faults with in my cite
Of nun eye am a wear

Each frays come posed up on my screen
Eye trussed to be a joule
The chequer poured o'er every word
To cheque sum spelling rule

That's why aye brake in two averse
My righting wants too pleas
Sow now ewe sea wye aye dew prays
Such soft wear for pea seas

We have spell check. But grammar, that's a different story like in Area Man's example.

Yes, a grammar checker would be much more useful than a spell checker. Then again, proofreading goes a long way.

The spell check we have on this site is quite good. The 'Preview' feature gives the opportunity to see what you wrote looks and a chance to read it (proofread) one more time.
It's the abbreviations that one runs across that can cause confusion......and the symbols as used in the answer quoted above. I have no idea what they mean or if they are referring to my answer above it. Does he think I am square, are these boxes to be checked, does he agree or disagree with something.This is my fault for not knowing this but I'll blame it being of an age where computers and their language didn't exist til much later in life and I did not jump on board when they did. It took me a year of reading the 'classified' section until I figured out what 'ttt' meant.

Dump IE and download Mozilla Firefox...it has a spell checker built in just like Word.

I only use IE if I have too, for example work computers.

The OP was concerning spelling..............pronunciation is a whole other world and where you are living in it.....good luck with that one..lol
