Speer TNT bullets

The Speer 52gr FB Varmint HP is pretty much my go-to bullet for coyote hunting, I shoot it in 222 Rem, 223, 5.6x50R Mag, 22-250 and 22-250AI. It's a really a reliable bullet, always accurate, splash resistant and still doesn't wreck pelts, I buy them by the thousand.
I wish those #1035’s that you are talking about were on sale.

Just as a comment, I shot lots of TNTs in my Savage 12BVSS with a 1:9 twist and had to keep the MV down a bit because they would disintegrate when leaving the barrel. Once that phenomenon destroyed my Chrony! The wisdom from some of the sages on this site back in those days believed that the pure lead core of the TNT would be molten at those speeds and just the slightest upset would cause the jacket to fail. Great days. I lost a second Chrony to the same phenomenon with a Hornady SX bullet.

the tnt are great in the 223. I just counted the empty little plastic ammo cans those bullets come in and I have shot over 9000 of the 50gr tnt, almost exclusively in 223's. I tried them in other cartridges, but I like 50vmax or 50 ballistic tip in the more powerful stuff. first time I bought them they were $62. per 1000. made it more economical for high volume shooting, if there is such a thing in this sport as "economical"

My experience was not good albeit with a 222 and 223 Rem bolt rifles.

Where I hunt, the terrain is quite rocky. I had several ricochets. In addition, I had on one occasion where the 50 TNT out of my 222 Rem blew up on the shoulder of a large ground hog without penetration into the vitals thus the hog making to it hole to suffer a slow death. That is unacceptable to me

I found that the Nosler BT's and Hornady Vmax's a much better choice for eastern hogs. In addition, these bullets are significantly more accurate in my rifles than the TNT's.

With that said, I never used them in my 22 250's so maybe the performance would be different. However, I would be concerned about driving them to fast which would limit the reason for selection a 22 250 in the first place.

Definitely more fragile than a BT or Vmax.
