Somewhat Disappointed - Lapua Brass

Interesting observations John.
I wonder if your lots were mis-annealed.

Before improving a cases, I lead-dip anneal ~750deg all the way to mid-body. The last I did this was with 26wssm imp, and had no failures resulting.
 
I second the Norma brass if you don't like the Lapua. While I predominately use Lapua in most guns - I bought 7mm Mag brass in Norma as Lapua doesn't make it. Each case was a machined jewel compared to the other available options. I purchased some Norma 6ppc for an old Sako 6ppcUSA rifle I didn't want to put extra mileage on by fireforming. Great brass that was more consistent in weight and neck thickness than the Lapua .220 Russian I use in my tight-necks. Haven't fired it enough to see if it will go the 18-20 firings that my Lapua brass will. Time will tell. The best thing about all these options is that we are obligated to try them out!
