It will have to wait! Heading out for a match!
Its a very precise piece- way more support than it actually needs on both rams. If you have good dies all the press does is push a case in and pull it out. You dont want a press influencing the sizing or seating operation at all. It is supported on the bottom and in the body so well its one of the more precise presses out there. Matt has a large state of the art cnc machine shop and a full staff of very competent machinists. No junk is going out that door i assure you.I dont want to show my ignorance but why does it have two rams and one clearly not supported as well as the other?
I learned a lot from your green presses. I look at precision reloading much different since we discussed them at rachels glenBart, that is indeed a beautiful piece.
I would post a picture of what I use, you have seen it, so you know why I wouldn’t.
Suffice to say, it is exactly 180 degrees opposite of this work of art. Heck, it’s 180 degrees opposite of just about everything.
@jackieschmidt and @Dusty Stevens Inquiring minds want to know. Perhaps time to start a new thread.I learned a lot from your green presses. I look at precision reloading much different since we discussed them at rachels glen
I'm not sure of your experience with RCBS RC supreme BUT I can say that I am getting <.001 runout on 95% of my rounds with it (and the Wilson seater die) and the other 5% are less than .0015, hope yours is the same.I learned a lot from your green presses. Yes sir I do, Newlon and Whidden.Sounds like you have some good dies
We’ve discussed it here many times. Actually everytime somebody mentions a precision press. Let your dies do the work with no influence from the press. Think a press thats ran so many rounds thru it that you can see the ram rattling when you shake it. What most folks call 5 million rounds too many is what we call a good start on press fit@Dusty Stevens , what he said, im curious too. yall be knowin that secrets DONT make friends!!!![]()

Just when I thought I had it figured out. Lose is good. Tight is good. Real lose is better. We’ve discussed it here many times. Actually everytime somebody mentions a precision press. Not a great picture but I added an extension and a 2” diameter ball to mine. Fits the palm of my hand now
