Im looking for some target loads for my new .308 reloadings noe new to me but all ive done is 6mm ppc please let me know what powder you use and bullet in grains thanks for looking all help will be appreciated Bill
Here is a list of powders I have used: imr4064,alliant reloader15, varget, blc-2. I use hornady, sierra, berger 168 grain bullets, I have never had great luck with 175's but have better luck with 180's and if you want lighter the 150-155.5 grain bullets work good.
My "most accurate load" is 37.3 grains Viht-135 behind A 168 SMK at 2.96 COAL. R-P brass, freshly annealed, WLR primer. That load MAY not work for your gun. I also load 4064, 4895,RL-15. What powder do you have? My load is a coaster, by the way.
My load and gun will be different than yours,so use your own work up. I have been using 39.8 grs. Accurate 4064, WLR primers, LC-07 brass ( around 178grs.) Hornady 178 gr. A-Max seated at 2.800" in my DPMS LR-308 with 24" heavy barrel to get 3 round groups of 1/4" at 100 yrds. 5 round groups of less than 1/2". All of the factory match that I have shot would only do around 1". Have fun working up your own.
