K0na_stinky,
You just have to give us a shorter name, K0na_stinky is just to long to write every time
LOL I think RJ and Ron has a very valid point, you need to decide what you really want to do for a shooting discipline, every discipline requires a little different set up and unless you already have everything it will get expensive. A couple of years ago just out of the blue I decided I wanted to shoot long distance, 600 and out. I went into it blindly with no mentor and spent money like a drunken sailor, thousands upon thousands of dollars and lots of it totally unnecessary, I cant stress enough to spend a little on fuel or bus ticket and go to a few different matches, buy some videos, youtube and any other avenue you might have to gain some knowledge in different disciplines so you can buy the necessary equipment the first time. Right now I only have LR BR and f-class available to me, I haven't ever shot f-class but I think I may try some this year if time and money is available, I think I will be able to enhance my wind reading skills (which isn't much now) by shooting some 600 and 1000 yard f-class. I am only 47 so I still have to work as my youngest is still in high school and I work nights, so I have to take time off for competitions, and the closest range for me in in Missoula Mt (300 miles). I bought my son the model I suggested for Siiri in a 1:12 and it will shoot up to 85 grain bullets very well, ragged holes @ 100 yds and well under a inch @ 300 yards, I have not papered it any further than that but have shot varmints out past 600 with no problems, I pick it up from the smith today with a new 1:8 Krieger chambered in 6brx, he is going to try to compete with it, I feel he will need to change stocks but he wants to try with the factory HS precision stock. 1K yards is a very long ways to shoot and takes some dedication in the loading room as well as technique on the bench and quality glass. Ron had some very frustrating times with his 1:12 and some particular weight bullets, if you look up his past posts you will find some good info. I am not trying to be bossy but you are young and I know money probably has to be at least some what of a issue, so just making suggestions so you spend wisely the first time hopefully
There are some world class shooter up in Canada maybe you should start a thread and ask for some help, you will be surprised I think on how many knowledgeable shooters reply from your homeland, there are @ least two on this thread right now. I am sorry for being so long winded, I have enjoyed watching the two of you progress in your shooting skills this past year by your post here on 6br, good luck and I will be interested in your next moves.
Respectfully Wayne.
