Soft brass / new caliber

I have 400 once fired cases of Fed 223 gold match brass...I loaded some as reg 223 & after firing & reloading ..noticed the primer pockets were loose..no real resistance in seating new primers...The reloads showed no pressure signs & were accurate..Anyway I'm working on a new caliber the Tac 20.. should I use this batch of brass to form up those cases ??? I have been trying to find Lapua brand formed up as Tac 20 but I cant find it...So buying a form die & having at it looks like the route I'm going to go.I welcome any suggestions/hints..mike in ct

So the verdict is ??? Use it ??? or dump it ??? It is a lot of work sorting/reforming/trimming those cases.. should I buy some Lapua 223 & reform that or get a batch of remington brass & start working with those ??..The gun should be back from pac-nor in a few more weeks & I'd like to have the ammo started..The stock is ready to finish with the pillars & bedding..The trigger & sights are all set to go..I could be shooting this puppy the week it gets back to me..mike in ct

as long as the primers stay in it should be safe...When i do my 223 over, I'll start with lapua.

Since you only have 400, i'd punt and go lapua...I started wit 2000 LC 223 cases for PD's, and i still use them cause they WORK, but lapua gives me peace of mind

did you try any different brand primers- -I recall reading that one brand or another was a hair smaller than another, can't remember which. Was it WIN primers that were naked copper color a smidge small?

It shoots lights out, just too much recoil for me. This is the Savage take-off when I bought my stick.

I'll have to change the bolt face in my LA 35 Whelen gun,It shoots real nice..I almost hate to convert it just to play with another barrel...Let me look into this...How much do u need for the whole Imus ?? barrel brass dies ?? thanks again, mike in ct
