ever hear of this technique ???

I'm playing with a new caliber..Tac 20...take 223 brass..Clean & resized... run it in a form die & then finish in the full lenght Tac 20 sizing die...Problem, no form die...A fellow told me it is so close to the parent cartridge to Forget the form die..Remove the stem from the Tac 20 seating die & push it up there before using the full lenght Tac 20 sizing die...The dies in question are Redding ..The finish is very smooth...I'm thinking this may work...I bought some Imperial sizing wax & I'm waiting for the die set to arrive...I'm cleaning sorting & resizing that soft batch of 223 federal match stuff to try this on...I'm going to drive you guys half nuts if this gun doesn't show up soon...mike in ct

I've done some case resizing in just the manner you describe, using Redding resizing wax with excellent results, no spoiled cases. I did take my time when working the handle of the press, however.
