So what is your build for next year?

I like my chassis builds, and just had another MDT Oryx at
my door step. I do like my Savage PTA actions, (3) so I figure
to order in a Savage F-Class rig, just for the stock and action.
I'll use it for my 284-ELF cat and do up a short porch toy. I'll
have to get a barrel order in shortly though if I want to bust
caps by early spring.

I have all the pieces now for an Anschutz/Eliseo chassis prone smallbore rifle.

And I just took delivery of a Rem 700 223 prone rifle in a laminated wood stock with a 30”Bartlein 1-7 twist heavy Palma and a Tubb T7T trigger.

I’m putting together my third 300 Norma Mag Improved. But this one will have some chamber dimension changes. Still waiting on my revised reamer to arrive from JGS then I will get the barrel chambered up, brake fitted, and everything bedded to complete the project.

I liked the looks of this WOOX stock and the fact that it’s a full aluminum chassis for strength but with wood dressing for a more traditional look. I didn’t know what to do with the pic rail on the butt of the stock since I don’t use rear monopods so I fashioned a custom aluminum pic rail cover to turn it into a nice bag rider on the rear end. Also mounted a swivel stud up in the front of the butt rail since i don’t like side mounted slings. I placed the swivel stud in a spot where it does not need to be removed when using a rear bag. It’s drilled and tapped into the front of the pic rail.

- BAT HR receiver with Lapua bolt face
- Bixn’ Andy TacSport Pro trigger
- WOOX Exactus stock with CIP+ M5 cut
- Hawkins M5 bottom metal with 3 round Accurate mags.
- Hart 1 in 10” twist barrel @ 26”
- Tactics muzzle brake
- Atlas CAL Gen 2 bipod with custom spike feet

I like what you did there! I’ve been curious about the Woox stocks, thinking about a Fruiosa. They look well made.

Yeah the fit and finish is excellent. The machining is perfect fit as well. Didn’t even have to shim or deepen the inletting on the bottom metal. Exact perfect depth straight out of the box for proper mag feeding.
Didn’t even have to modify receiver screws as they all had perfect full amount of thread engagement. They definitely have the inletting down perfect for Hawkins bottom metal

The only thing I had to do for inletting on the BAT HR was mill out a little spot out on the for the retaining screw that holds the side bolt release in the receiver. Everything else fit up perfectly. They say you don’t need to bed it but of course there’s no way I’m not bedding it because there’s no support on the sides of the recoil lug for torsional resistance.

The one big negative was that the Exactus comes with a side mounted QD cup for sling mounting in the rear, but no sling attachment of any kind in the front. Doesn’t make any sense to me. It has an Mlok rail on the forend so I installed a sling mount on it and since I can do my own work, I drilled and tapped a swivel stud in the rear as well. Other than that mess up on the design, it’s a very good stock. Overall I am very happy and will probably be trying some of their other models in the future.

Putting together a 6mm AI for my boy who is getting close to the legal hunting age here in Canada. I shoot a 6mm AI with a heavy varmint contour and 26" barrel, his will be 24" and a #3, make it more manageable for him weight wise, would also be alot better to carry for coyote calling than mine!

I am doing a .224 SAUM AI, currently have a 25 SAUM and a 6 SAUM. Also building a .257 Blackbird, which is a 7 Blaser Magnum necked down to 25. Also doing a straight 7 Blaser Magnum. The first one to get done will be the 7 Blaser Magnum. The reamers are in as well as the resizing remaers and go gauges. Also bought Newlon Blanks for a custom S die for them. Cant wait for the .224 SAUM AI, reamer is in route right now.
