So much for I'm done with the 6ppc,,,,

I remember an associate back in the late ‘70s bought a surplus Phantom for what I thought was a fairly inexpensive price at the time, the only problem to me was the price of fuel to fly for an hour was $2000- back then. I would much rather put fuel in a hemi ‘Cuda ;)

Then there’s that older aircraft ratio of flight time to maintenance hours, probably 10:1. Makes match shooting look cheap.

Man, I’m surprised that they had one in the category of surplus in the 70’s. The last new one rolled out in 1981, which is like buying an F-16 now, yes, it would be an older design, but still an in-production fighter.

@JimPag
When you make the Cuda yours some pics would be great
Will do. I dropped it off two weeks ago at K&E Engineering. It will be worked on all winter. I figure it will be done in either March or April. They were really impressed with the car and my newer enclosed ramp truck that I bought to cart it around. They said it was one of the nicest combo's that they had ever seen. That enclosed ramp truck is the balls. It's better than any pickup truck/trailer combo. So much torque from that Cummins Turbo diesel. My cousin came with me and he has 2 hot Rods a 32 and 35 Ford. He hauls them around in an enclosed trailer and he said Pag this is the way to haul a car around. He said it's way better than a trailer and it doesn't even feel like there is a car in the back of it. It has rear air ride and it just floats over the bumps. I like the truck better than the car. Thanks. It will look way better after the rebuild.
Good God. I thought this was the rebuild. I can only imagine what it will look like later. Those cars bring back so many good old memories. Let us see her when you are done. Again beautiful.

That car’s stance is perfect. It’s an improvement on a masterpiece! I probably have 100 models of the E bodies, America’s broad shouldered bruisers. There has only been one make of engine block strong and powerful enough for top fuel racing, the bored out Hemi. I can only swing Wranglers, but I do love my Mopars.

No this is just the way I got it from a guy in Canada. It has only 1600 miles since he built it from the ground up. Him and his friend built it. There are things that it has that makes it unsuitable for the street like a G-Force 101A 4 speed racing transmission. It has straight cut gears and it's loud and you have to beat the shit out of the transmission to make it work on the street. I'm replacing it with a Liberty/Tremec TKX 5 speed. The rear end is a shortened Dana 60 4 link with 4:88 gears. The way he mounted the 4 link I can't put a set of wheelie bars on it. It's getting replaced with a Mark Williams 9" modular 4 link full floater with 4;10's and there are T7075 aluminum brackets to mount wheelie bars on. I'm going to get a set of super expensive MVM carbon Fiber wheelie bars. I'm also getting a Mark Williams carbon driveshaft and his lightened steel disc brakes all around. K&E is going to fabricate a custom rear spoiler and make a custom parachute mount where the license plate is. They are going to French in the license plate into the bottom pan below the rear bumper. Evan who is part owner of the place does some unbelievable stuff with sheetmetal.

OK now I see. I think you will like the 4:10 better than the 4:88 on the street. I once had a Ran Air IV GTO with 4:33 gears and found those not bad for the track but not on the street.
