So much for I'm done with the 6ppc,,,,

I can't count the times I say I'm done chasing my tail. Last fall I said it, and built a 222 to have fun with in local marches. Great thing is it's showing promise, but once again,,, that bug bites!

A good friend got ahold of me last week and said he got a new gun, "are you interasted in my old one? Of course as weak as I am, and thinning my collection, but how do you say no to this.

Bat SB octagon jewel on a Scoville Stock this time and another Dwight Scott build with a Krieger 6ppc at around 450 rounds.. I was making headway saying no, till I seen it was blue. So it followed me home. I threw a 15-55 NF on it for now. Since our second match of the year is Sunday and my 42x44 NF is on the 222 Panda ready for Sunday.

Next week the B&L 36x Trophy will go back on the 222 and this new Bat will get the 42x44.

I have always admitted I have a sickness that has no cure. I just seem to find out about every 6 months, it's worse than I thought, and obviously still getting worse! It's sure great to have friends, and I seem to have the best!
How do you think I feel. I started with one and I kept buying and building more and more. I keep telling my girlfriend that this is the last one then a great deal comes along and I ended up with 35 SR bench rifles and now I'm down to 24 because a car came into the picture.

Tony Boyer's 2nd Teddy that I bought from Speedy. Had Tony autograph both sides of the Lowell Frei painted stock when I bought all of his stuff 2 years ago. Tony said that was the prettiest rifle that he ever owned. He said he paid 425.00 for the paintjob many years ago. Lowell told him that price was a friend's discount price.IMG_4221.JPGIMG_4222.JPG

You have a nice inventory there JimPag, I would never have enough time to shoot em all. But 8lbs of LT-32 now setting here waiting on two new 5lbs 13.5" twist Keigers, in LV contour for some testing.

I took the little 222 DUESH out and tried some 3 shot groups with 52 grn Bibs, I'll be trying 5 shot groups to prove these loads as soon as the wind cooperates. If one proves itself, I'll be shooting it in 2 weeks for a 100 yard group match.

New to me tell us more about Mr Hare. Was he from Ft Pierce also? I like to stop at Carter's every so often and have lunch.
Yes, James lived down in Indian River Estates. He was a 'one-man-band' with his shop in the garage and his blueing was done in a back yard shed. I don't know an awful lot about him other than a few stories he told me. I do know that he built PPS's for several shooters during the 80s. He mostly built guns for sharp-shooters in law enforcement and the CIS. The 6mm PPC he built for me was the most amazing rifle I've ever felt, owned, or fired. It's a light weight sporter with an XP100 action and a gain-twist barrel. It wears a 12X Leupold from that era.

I'm not B/Sing when I tell you that the day he delivered my rifle and took me out to shoot it, I put 5 in the same tiny hole at 100 yards, and I never considered myself to be a great shot. Jas was not surprised at how well his build shot, but I think he was impressed with my shooting~! I still have 40 of the original loaded cartridges he gave me

Just don't understand why Jim has so many tuners. Word is that they don't work and he would have only needed one for proof. LOL.
