SLIP 2000 CARBON KILLER/QUESTION

I want to know what would happen if slip 2000 carbon killer was to dry in the bore.The instructions seem alittle vague. Is it possible to get it out if it drys etc.

Impression I get from reading the label on my bottle is that it will cause rust. They say to use their oil after using the carbon killer or some other oil. I patched mine out good then ran some patches with Shooters Choice/Kroil mixture thru it.
Hope that works. I used it for the first time last week. Wish I had a bore scope.

I've never left it in the bore, but have a small bottle large enough to hold an AR bolt and related small parts. I drop them in the Slip 2000 while I'm cleaning the rest of the rifle. The stuff claims to be bio- degradable so I threw some out in the yard that was old and it killed the grass better than Round Up!
Regardless, it does a great job of soaking the carbon off the bolt, a little brushing, followed by a quick blast of Gun Scrubber, then your preferred lube, and you are ready to go.

A little off topic... but I've never got that stuff to remove any carbon at all.

I've soaked my 5.56mm Advanced Armament Silencer in it, and all I ended up with was a can that stunk like oranges for weeks.

I've made the mistake of buying that stupid stuff TWICE! I've even tried running it in a plastic container in an Ultrasonic cleaner and it still was useless.

I am finding the same result.It is just an emusified citrus based cleaner.It doesnt do anything.I am not happy.

My same experience with Slip 2000, as verified with my Hawkeye borescope. It did easily remove the carbon from fired case necks, but did nothing inside the barrel. Did several before and after tests, & had no significant reduction in carbon fouling. The remaining 3/4 of the quart container went down the drain. More snake oil.

I did get some use out of Slip 2000. I made a video of me blowing it up with a bottle and a Can of 1shot all strapped to a pound of tannerite.

3 useless products destroyed in seconds!!

It will rust and pit a black powder bore if not removed. But it's great cleaner, cleaning patch between shots. Just get it out an lube before storing

Some years ago I insulted the manufacturer in North Carolina. The original was all emerald green, tacky, later it looks like someone cleaned a paint roller and put in bottles. My shooting friends all claim it works as good. I'm still nursing the original gallon
