Montana Extreme Copper Killer

I hate using the dropper to apply copper killer to patches and brushes, my wife's old contact solution bottles seem like they would be great for dispensing the stuff. So my question is will the Copper Killer (50bmg) react with the plastic bottle? or would it be safe to store in and dispense out of?

Thanks

Brandon,
I can't say about your plastic bottle but I store mine in a plastic Tippton bottle with no issues.

Plastic or nagalene Bottles? The amonia will evaporate through both given any time has expired. I would continur to use a dark colored glass bottle. It is sold in a dark brown glass bottle for a reason
My 2 cents worth.

Lets play what if: Say somebody squirts the stuff in their eye thinking it is ine thing not knowing that it is bore cleaner. Sinclair sells squeeze bottles, there are pricey but safe and handy.

Thanks guys! The Copper Killer (50Bmg) I have, actually comes in a metallic 20oz bottle, aluminum looking. The label has been removed and the bottle has been marked with a red sharpie. Just haven't used it yet. If it doesn't leak or eat the bottle it will dispense great! I have some Sinclair bottles, mine leak :'(

I'll keep you all posted.

I have a bunch of the Sinclair bottles and none of them leaked for quite a while; now, some do. Tightening the lids doesn't seem to stop it. I'm not talking about major leaks, just enough to be a very slight aggravation. They are still my first choice in cleaning, oil and solvent bottles.

Montana Xtreme recently replaced the plastic bottles with the new aluminum ones.

I use this stuff and think it is great, however I have found that if you leave it in plastic for a long period (say all winter) it looses it potency. I store it in a dark glass bottle and fill a clear squirt bottle when in use.

I use the copper killer too (great stuff & clears the sinuses) and the sinclair bottles also.

I use the orig mt xtrme bottle for primary storage cause like Nat said, those bottles are designed for that purpose. But I use the sinclair bottles for application. Just pour in a couple of oz's for cleaning use, pour whats not used back in orig bottle, rinse the sinclair bottle with some iso. Good to go, no leaky, weeping soft bottle and the copper killer stays fresh, strong and secure.

Over here where I live the Montana Extreme products have came in the aluminum bottles for quite some time and although they look cool they leak like heck in your range box, so I have been using tipton and Sinclair bottles, they don't leak and a 20 oz bottle last me about a week so I doubt I loose much of it's potency, once put in the range box sun light doesn't get in and since the bottle doesn't leak like the aluminum ones do neither does any air. Sun light and air is what kills it so I believe I am safe, if you store yours in the window sill or out where the sun light can get to it then I agree with others to store it in the original container or dark glass bottle, mine comes from the factory and is through my barrel before the label is completely dry :D but for you that don't shoot much maybe plastic isn't the way to go.

WOW! How many rounds a week are you pounding down the tube? I'm still struggling with spring work and haven't fired a shot yet! ;D I maybe ought to hire some undocumented to do my work so I can get to shooting! ;D

Between what I am doing for other people and our own shooting we, my son and I shoot 1000 rounds a week or so from march through September, then we taper of to almost none until late December then we start up again, I am fortunate in the fact that my range is 50 yards from my back door, I can go 1760 or so but I prefer to not go past 600 on that range do to terrain but a mile up the road from the house is my 1K range so I guess I am pretty lucky there, some folks collect stamps, some folks watch NASCAR, I shoot!!

Had the same experience using Shooter's Choice and those bottles, the solution would turn a dark shade of yellow and stain the hell out of everything it touched and I could smell the lack of ammonia. Went back to keeping the solvent in the manufacturer's dark glass bottle and have had no issues since. I use a glass dropper to dispense the solvent - work well for me.

Incidently, manufacturer advised that over time, no plastic bottle will prevent the solvent from degrading.
