Slip 2000 and carbon

dont have my bore scope yet. Wondering how well the sea foam, Mercury power tune and others work on carbon when brushing in and patching out. Can someone with first hand eyes on the subject comment?

Sea Foam, Chevron Techron, and Mercury Power Tune all work pretty well. I have used all of them. They would be what I clean the bore with first. They do a decent job and cost is very reasonable. In the last cleaning I use the Bore Tech. It's expensive but it works. So the first products are used to get the heavy cleaning done and the Bore Tech sure gets what's left.

I've never heard of Sea Foam. Where do you get it?
Cheapest place is Walmart. I think the best time to use it would be when the barrel is hot. It won't work well cold. This is why when you Sea Foam your car they want the engine hot so it cuts the carbon on the pistons and valves.

I bet the safest and most effective method of removing baked on carbon is with high pressure steam. In the old days we used to de carbon engines by getting them hot and drizzling plain old water in the carburetor. The water turned to steam and all the carbon from the combustion chambers went out the tailpipe. Some entrepreneur should come up with a chamber plug connected to a source of steam and I'd bet my best rifle it will clean any carbon out of the bore.
