Single shot RBRP or RBLP

Depends on if you're right or left handed. Me, right handed. Wanted to try shooting a "lefty action" (rifle) right handed. Picked up a lefty repeater action, mounted it on an "ambi" stock and went shooting. Loved it!!
Got a right hand thumb hole BR style stock, set it up for the lefty action.
Right hand stays in the thumb hole for stock control while your free left hand feeds ammo and works the bolt. No taking your right hand off the stock to work the bolt.
If you're a lefty, go right hand stock. Same, just on the other side. Left hand stock, right hand works the bolt and feeds ammo and your left hand does stock control.
Only issue? If you're right handed? Going back to a right hand stock and having to take your hand off the stock to work the bolt. :( Whatever makes you happy. :D :D
And, the repeater action is set up as a single shot. (sled/follower installed) Ejector and spring removed so the fired/unfired brass/round stays on the bolt face till I pick it off.

Anyone have experience with a rblp rifle?
I’ve been in your shoes. RBLP looks intriguing but it’s an unknown (and maybe a little intimidating). My first one was not by my choice but as soon as I started using the gun I was a 100% convert. One thing I’ll mention is it takes some sandbox time to re-program your brain not to reach around to catch empty brass. But long/short story is all my prairie dog rifles are now RBLP. Give it a try!

For rimfire if you are RH it’s a no brainer. Trying to load single fire when you can’t see the chamber can be frustrating. I got my first RBLP about 6 years ago and never looked back. I’m sure CF is easier. GL with your decision.

This is the cat's ass. Once you use a drop port you will throw rocks at the others
Many that use a joystick rest do not like drop ports.

I like drop ports because I use a regular adjustable rest.

That being said, my favorite VFS Rifle is an old Farley, (1990’s), that is a simple right bolt left port no eject, which works fine for VFS.

My LV 6PPC is a Right/ Left Farley that I converted to a drop port years ago.

As for the OP’s question, I think the Right Bolt Left Port Right Eject is probably the most popular set up in Short Range for right hand shooters.

Not to argue Jackie. I use a Borden drop port with a joystick rest to shoot long range. I also use a pedestal rest for certain things but it doesn't make a difference to me with the drop port which rest I use. We shoot groundhog matches, 600 yd freedom and thousand yard bench rest. To me it's the nicest one that I have. I have another Borden that is a right left right. I also have two Nesikas that are right left no eject along with a Kelbly the same way.
To me for prairie dog hunting which I've done a lot of I would like either the drop port or right left no eject. All of this, as a right-handed shooter.

The whole idea between the different designs is to avoid excessive gun handling and movement. It's a personal preference and what will work with your gun handling technique. Your stature, arm length, and where you position your head all works into your final choice. You have to try different configurations. What works for me may not work for you.
