Sinclair Uniformer

question for you guys on the Sinclair uniformers. I have the full set with SR/P, LP, LR cutters, etc. I used it on some LR brass some time ago with great success. I was processing some .380acp brass and using my ballistic tools go/no-go gauge, I found a handful of cases where the "go" was either really tight, or just wouldn't go in. I figured I'd run them through my uniformer to gain those cases back, but found that even after uniforming them, the go side still wouldn't quite fit, or was very tight. I called sinclair and found that the SR/P uniformer is mfg to a depth of .120 and OD of .171. The Ballistic tools is mfg to specs of .173 for the go side, and just a shade over .1745 for the no-go (since it's above max). I was surprised that the uniformer wouldn't cut the diameter to the min spec. any thoughts?

It is what it's always been... a depth uniformer.

Bottom line... Can you prime the brass?

Maybe the Ballistic Tools gauge has a more questionable utility in this application than even the Sinclair tool?

The uniformers only cut the bottom of the primer pocket, not the sides. At least thats the way mine work, including two Sinclairs. Try putting a small bevel on the pocket to remove any possible crimping. I do that on an occasional crimped pocket, quicker than breaking out the Dillion pocket swagger.
