AK said: am not sure if I need a windage top or not. How important is this feature for informal target shooting? I would like to get the Sinclair lightweight model with all-purpose top, and have the option to upgrade to a windage top in the future. How does this rest compare to the Caldwell Rock, I have heard mixed reviews about the Rock. Does anybody have anything good to say about it?

For $75, the Midway/Caldwell 'Rock' is a good piece of gear. You can't go wrong at this price point. You *can* go wrong if you were to buy the POS Hoppes rest, which isn't worth twenty bucks, let alone forty whatever it costs.
The windage top is not necessary for informal target shooting.
Although Sinclair makes excellent products, and they are worth the money, and I use one myself), you should not spend more than you can afford. A bunch of people going into debt, and then bailing on paying their debt, results in the incredible mess that faces the US taxpayer now. Caused by irresponsible people and corrupt/reckless/irresponsible government. Don't be one of these losers. Buy what you can afford!
Another worthy, IMO, alternative is the Wichita rest as you can purchase from Brownell's. Plenty heavy duty, can accept,if I recall correctly) a windage top as an aftermarket accessory, and a good price point. See it here: http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=16137&title=PRECISION%20RIFLE%20REST
Their so-called 'dealer' cost is about $29 less. I could order it for you from them, for that price, if you decide you want one.
