Sinclair Bump gauge or Hornady LNL headspace gauge

Lookig at purchasing one of those items to measure shoulder set-back during FL sizing. Your thoughts on either?

They are same, same. I have the original Stoney Point now Hornady and it works great. Go with whatever is easiest to order.

Both gauge bodies are the same, the difference is in the insert. Hornady's are aluminum where the Sinclair's are SS. Sinclair's also have a slight bevel to the opening in them. I also use Sinclair's SS bullet comparator inserts in the same gauge body.

The Sinclair bump gauge inserts are machined to fit a particular shoulder angle which results in a better fit making it easier to get repeatable measurements. They're more expensive but in my opinion worth it.

I have both the Sinclair and the Hornady versions. Due to the different inserts I find the measurements are different for the same resized case. This is not necessarily a problem (provided you don't swap between the Sinclair with the Hornady) as we are interested in the relative measurement ie the amount of setback relative to the h/s of a fired case.

I have recently purchased a cartridge headspace gauge from Davies Triggers (www.daviestriggers.com.au) and it is the best of the 3. They also make a base to ogive gauge.
