So I recently received a few Sinclair comparators, 17, 22, 6mm, 30. All are fine except the 17 is a bit large................

17 cal 18.5 Hammett in the comparator, albeit a bit deep..............:)

Anyone else had this issue? I've notified the seller, and asked that they not ship me another one until the issue is resolved with the mfg............. No big deal, just hope they get it worked out. Curious more than anything else...............

I guess they didn't expect such a short bullet to be used. How does a 20gr or 25gr look?

maybe shave off some of it to work with the short 18.5's

Supposed to stop at the bearing surface datum (did I just coin something new?) or thereabouts. Length of the bullet doesn't matter.

I was not familiar with theirs, most have the reduced datum line inside the tool where the bullet seats. A short bullet will drop in farther than a longer one.

I had that happen with a .22 about 2 years ago. Call them and send it back, they will make it good.

Yep, already shipped back, with a note that they send me a Hornady. Had I looked at the reviews, I would have not ordered it. All 3 of them said the same thing, that the hole was too big to use. Now there's 4........
