Sightron wide duplex and regular duplex your thoughts

Few months ago I ask for you long range shooters your opinion on the sightron lll 10-50x60 wide duplex and regular duplex scopes ( it also seems to have thicker cross hairs ) .
Not much feed back because I think it is a new reticle. I am hoping maybe some one else has purchased one by now or picked one up and looked through one ? Just wanted to get some more thoughts on them. I have a couple of these scopes with the moa-2 reticle and they work very good for me. I have a real bad shooting eye ( detached Retina 14 months ago and 3 operations later still cannot see like I use to , not going to get better ). Anyway I have a sightron lll 10-50x60LRTD that I am thinking about having sightron change to a wide duplex or maybe regular duplex because I can pick up the cross hairs better ( at least on my MOA-2 scopes I can ) The LRTD cross hairs and dot is now very hard for me to see with this bad shooting eye. I have not seen any reviews on these reticles ? Just wondering if any one has looked through one and get there thoughts on them. Also wonder what sightron was thinking on for a market or application for the wide duplex reticle ? I might be thinking wrong but my moa-2 reticle sure brings my bad eye to the center of the cross hairs nice. I sure don’t think their application was for a guy with a bad eye. Ha ha ha ha.
I am thinking about putting this wide duplex reticle on long , long range target rifle. Sightron will change it for me at a fair price. Do you think I would be covering up to much of a paper target or a prairie dog from 800 to 1000 yards. Hell to get old and have a bad eye on top of it. Just would like your thoughts. With two of the MOA-2 reticle scopes , I think this would make a good reticle. Your thoughts. Thanks. Marty

I have an 8-32 Slll with the wide duplex, and I can tell you that the cross hairs are quite a bit thicker than the ones you are using. They might help with your eyesight. I'm in South East Colorado, if you are in the area you are welcome to try mine.

Beemanjohn. Thanks for your thoughts on this sightron brand wide duplex reticle With my detached retina I think it will really help me a lot on long range shooting. It sure lets me pick up target faster and seems for me to focus on target easier. I am really surprised more shooters don’t use this reticle especially older shooters like my self. thanks for the offer looking through your scope but I am in Iowa don’t get out that way much.

I bought a sightron lll 10-50x60 LRdot and had sightron convert it to a wide duplex reticle. Wow what a difference for me. It really brings your eye on target so much faster. Seems to work really good for me on 1000 yard shooting. I am really surprised more target shooters don’t use this reticle on long long range shooting. I might convert my other sightron to the wide duplex.

i was looking at getting another 8-32 siii fine plex but was curious about the wide plex.
anyone have pics? anyone know if the wide plex is finer than their mildot?

(sightrons website dimensions are way off on the mildot reticle, no way mine is as fine as listed)

I have the wide duplex in a 10-50 and like it just a little better than my MOA in the same scope. I have astigmatism and it seems to hold steadier for some reason than the dot. Could be its just more near like the reticles I've used in hunting scopes for the last 40 years. I also like the 1/8 moa adjustments.

Seems like a lil thicker--but I have no problem quartering a nickel sized target at 300 yards--fine enough for me. I'm speaking from memory (dangerous), so do check the Sightron site for exact dimensions.

i think i will just get another fine plex then. sightron needs a reticle like NF moar or moar-t. sightrons MOA-2 with the big dot just doesnt work for me.
