Sightron for benchrest.

I'm just getting back into indoor shooting (benchrest, 25 yard, .22 rimfire).
Used another club members gun fitted with a Vector Optics 10-40x vari-power.
Set at 40x, in a well lit range the target showed up OK (not 'exactly' crystal clear though...but certainly very usable).
Seemed to track OK too..the adjustment clicks reacted properly.
But...I'd like 'something' a tad better.
Would a Sightron sii 36x42 be OK for my use?
I'm quite happy with a fixed power 36x (although 40x would be nice too).
I don't need the complexity of a vari-power (or do I?).
Has anyone bought from these guys? Are they legit, and OK?

Or, has anyone else used the Vector Optics scopes? Are they OK long term? Because my other option is Vector Optics Minotaur 46x60.
The 46x magnification 'might' be OK?
Can't afford a Leupold or similar, so I have to spend my few remaining spare $$ to get the best result that I can.
Thanks for your input.

+1 on Lance . You also will find, time to time, used Sightron 40+ power scopes with the ED glass in them and it’s a better scope and your wallet will determine if that’s in your budget. Another one that Rimfire shooters talk about is the Mueller Optics line of scopes that your wallet will love and ,although not a Sightron, is not garbage and is probably the best budget scope line out there .

Do not apologize for thinking about a Sightron. I have a Hood and a Loker scope checker. On the Hood I use a Sightron as my reference scope To check my $2k+ scopes against. Also got one of their new fixed BR scopes. Solid POI.

I really like Sightron scopes! Routinely shooting my 22 at 100yd, I find the old Weaver T36 to be an entirely adequate bargain.

I have three sightron sIII's from Lance and love them all. I have an 8-32 on two 22 rifles and a 10-50 on my Tikka 223

I like Sightron Scopes and have 40X fixed power on one of my 100 yard Bench Rest Rifles. Bob White at The Shooters Corner also has good prices and supply on Sightron Scopes.

I just purchased a Sightron 10x50-60 from Lance here on the site and couldn't be more satisfied.
I am a green BR shooter so I have nothing to compare the Sightron too.
I'm shooting 100 - 300 yards so not a good comparison to your intended purpose.

Update...and I didn't buy the Sightron.
I had to buy in from Australia as none in NZ.
But then I discovered my local shop had a 45x Leupold Competition scope which they did a deal with.
Probably more scope than I need, but at least I won't be left wondering about if my scope is OK or not.
Yes, it was a few $100 more than the Sightron...but it should be the only scope I ever need (shouldn't it?).

Thanks guys.
No reply from Lance yet, but no worry now as have bought a scope.
We do get a tad envious over here in NZ (and Australia) as we can't easily get our hands on the lovely gear that is freely available in USA.
The US Govt. restricts overseas sales of high power (so called sniper!) scopes. Ummm...OK...what does that solve?
Restrict the export of an import? We can buy the same scopes ex UK, Europe, or even China.
But USA has much larger choice, and better prices. Plus we could then buy a scope and any other gear all in the one place.
It is what it is. We just have to work around the 'rules'.
I would have bought a new Sightron, but bought Leupold instead.
As long as it helps me shoot holes where I want them to go I'll be happy.
Take care guys and keep safe.

Yeah, sorry Lance...I may have messed up my sending thingy!
Just discovered that I could have PM'ed you. That would have been a lot easier.
I will get it right next time.

Having shot a fair amount of 22 benchrest, outside, inside at Luray the leupold competition 45 is tough to beat. I'm a sightron guy but the leupold is just brighter and clearer to my eyes and my old man's vs a SIII 10-50x60

Beauty of the sightron or any variable is the ability to dial down in heavy mirage if needed
