Sightron for benchrest.

Thanks guys.
No reply from Lance yet, but no worry now as have bought a scope.
We do get a tad envious over here in NZ (and Australia) as we can't easily get our hands on the lovely gear that is freely available in USA.
The US Govt. restricts overseas sales of high power (so called sniper!) scopes. Ummm...OK...what does that solve?
Restrict the export of an import? We can buy the same scopes ex UK, Europe, or even China.
But USA has much larger choice, and better prices. Plus we could then buy a scope and any other gear all in the one place.
It is what it is. We just have to work around the 'rules'.
I would have bought a new Sightron, but bought Leupold instead.
As long as it helps me shoot holes where I want them to go I'll be happy.
Take care guys and keep safe.
Yes you have to go thru Hunter Biden to buy a sniper scope. That way the big guy get his 10percent, thru China. Just watch Australia News.

I use my Sightron 45x45 on my CZ457 at 50 yords. Really clear image. Not sure how close the paralax will adjust.
I just put one on my 1413 Anschutz. One of the reasons I bought it was because they focus down to 15 meters. I have only shot it so far at 100 yds. in competition, but I was very pleased with the quality of the glass!

I put a SIII 45x45 on my Vudoo V-22S, and was pleased with it, but got the itch to try one of their SV scopes to see if the ED glass makes a difference, and to sample the gear-driven parallax. As expected, the SV was brighter than the 45x45 when set to approximately the same power - that's only logical, since the SV has a 60mm objective vs 45mm on the SIII. No question that the geared parallax is the Rolls Royce option, especially since the parallax knobs on all my SIIIs (several 6-24x50s & a couple of 8-32x56s) are pretty stiff, and the SV is much easier to turn which is great when you're 'fine-tuning' the focus.

After a few months - but not a lot of shooting, due to work interfering with play and poor weather conditions for shooting - I decided to put the 45x45 back on the V-22S, and move the SVSSED 10-50x60 over to my BAT 3L LR BR rifle in 6 Dasher, which I use mainly in our club's BR Varmint Silhouette matches. Previously, I had one of the SIII 8-32x56 scopes on the Dasher, and while it's been very good in that application, I think the added clarity & brightness of the SV - along with the geared parallax - will be fully appreciated while shooting small varmint targets at 200, 300, 385, & 500M. We'll see how well it works for me when spring gets here...

Meanwhile, the 45x45 works plenty good enough for outdoor shooting at 50yds on the V-22S, and the 8-32x56 is going to find a new home on another V-22S that is being stocked for smallbore prone - unless I decide it's too large & bulky, then I'll probably start looking for another Unertl 1-1/2" Target scope in 16x.
