Sierra 69 Blitzkings

I got a few boxes of them. They shoot exactly the same as the 69 tipped match kings. Same speed same point of impact. They have just a little bit less of a ballistic coefficient and maybe just a little bit less pointy ogive but shoot about the same ballistics. Still have to shoot something to see if they blow things up more. The tmk Did a pretty good job of that themselves.

Picked up some more today from blue collar reloading. So they still have some in stock now if looking. They are also one of the few with alpha 22gt brass in stock.

My limited experience is they do indeed shoot close to the 69 TMK so that could be good starting point for initial load development.

Tried some I had on hand this last weekend.

Bradley did one of his barrels in a 22gt (.169fb) for me and on my first rounds down the barrel while fire forming new alpha 22gt brass I found a nice wide node at 36.8gr of H4350. 3225fps.

Disclaimer: I’m an average shot at best but five shot groups (0.2gr powder steps) were from .32 to .52” from 36.0 to 38.2gr (one scatter group aside) with best SDs (3.9-10.7) around the 36.8 mark. Most on here will certainly be able to get better results.

Probably better powders and faster loads out there but a promising start with a powder I have a bunch of. Point is the bullets won’t hold you back accuracy wise. I’m perfectly content to take a 1/2 moa, stable, safe load in the field for volume shooting.

39.2gr was a full case at 3537fps but SDs and groups both increased up there for me.

All just fyi.

That's pretty funny. That seems pretty good to me.

I also shot some yesterday out of my tikka t3 lite 22-250. H4350 showed promise, going to play with seating depth. Also tried VV160, I need to bump up the powder charge a grain or two.
