SHOUTOUT TO SIGHTRON

I developed a minor issue involving the lock out feature on my ED lens Sightron on at a match 2 weeks ago yesterday. I shipped it 2 days later. It's back and on the rifle as of yesterday. Fixed and turned around FAST. Plus no b's that the problem was caused my incorrect mounting, not using their mount and/ or assorted other garbage b's. You all know who I am referring to. Thanks Sightron , your efforts are appreciated. I love the ED glass and dual focus .

Sorry but I do not know who you are referring to please feel free to send me a p.m. if you would like

Glad it's fixed.

I had thought about another Sightron for my new to me Browning A Bolt in 25 WSSM.
But got a good deal on a Burris.
So that's the direction i went.

Sightron seems to be going towards the target/match shooter more and more lately.
Leaving the hunter looking elsewhere for their needs.

When I shot Hipower Shiloutte and IMHSA I shot Burris. Never had any POI or tracking issues. Shot thousands of rounds, never needed a repair. The only negative back then with the Burris scopes, they were a bit on the dark side but they worked fine for me.

I bought a used Sightron a few years ago that had a split in the lens cover where it slips over scope. I called them to purchase some new covers. They said no problem and sent me out a set free of charge. Pretty generous I thought.

Not calling any names but I'll bet it starts with a V.
I bet your wrong. I have never spoken to anyone at the various matches I shoot that had a bad warranty experience with "V". Actually I hear the exact opposite. I do hear hate from those who spent a lot more money and get beat by "V". Read my post on page 2 of the current thread...Golden Eagle vs Nightforce.

Yes, "V" has an excellent warranty but in your 1st post, you mentioned being told "problem was caused my incorrect mounting, not using their mount" which is exactly what I've gotten from 'V" the few times I've called about something but in the end, I have always been taken care of quickly and completely.
FYI, I own both "V" and Sightron and do believe Sightron generally has a better product at equal price points.
Why not just say what you wish to say so there won't be any confusion and I apologize for replying to your thread.

No that mounting story in a what I and numerous friends all long time shooters have gotten from NF. Don't misrepresent what I posted. Funny they tell you they found no problem but the scope works when it comes until it fails again. I hate being lied too that is why no more NF foe me.

That's SOP for both NF and Leupold. You know that as well as I do. What burns my ass is that they think we're all gullible. At least when something goes wrong with a March or a Kahles they will tell you exactly what was wrong with it instead of lying to you.

I have always revieved an explanation from Leupold and once a phone call. I am fine with them. Nf, never another one and the shame I liked my 12x42s, when they tracked. Don't tell me its the mount and I mounted it wrong. I feel pretty sure I mounted many scopes, and then some more before NF was even around. Funny, they would work when they came back.

The windage knob was touchy from day one, If you tightened the 3 little set screws enough after setting zero so it was engaged you could not lock or unlock it with a pry bar. Since its back it is fine, I reinstalled it and zeroed it today and then set the turrents to zero. Lock and unlock works as it should.

I own 4 sightron scopes. Did end up having a focusing issue with one of them. Sent it in with a detailed letter on issue. One week later received a brand new one in the mail. I had good service i feel!!

Well Jeff your one of the lucky ones as far as Leupold is concerned. Your the first one that ever said anything positive as far as an honest explanation of why a scope failed and they always explained why. I've owned roughly a dozen Leup Comp scopes, not to use but just to resell. I just don't trust them. I should say I don't trust the 45's. Have personally seen a dozen fail at matches. I own a custom 40 Comp but that was on one of the 2 rifles that I bought from Tony.

I had good luck with my Comps they were just short on power to see 500 yd bullet holes when I started shooting the 500 yd groundhogs matches. I started out with the 36x B&L scopes and never had a problem and for relatively inexspensive scopes they worked. Only problem was if the wind blew the turrents would move. Well not quite but if your hand just sideswiped them they moved. Now nearing the end I have 3 GEs and one Sightron on my 5 bench guns and am satisfied at this point. In my mind most matches come down to who reads the conditions and at times that can be either easy and rewarding or difficult and frustrating. All part of the game.I must mention I have a Hawke 30 Air Max on my Springer Air gun, noted scope killers. Through a bit over 1000 shots it has been steller.
