ShotMarker "match mode"

That is really cool. It would be nice to see more events run like that, more work up front but less work tallying scores and setting up the relays for days 2/3/4/5

The TSRA (Texas State Championship) and the V2 Finale among other matches Adam and his wife attended have been shot this year on it and helped work out any issues. I can say that Adam has absolutely killed it with this new software. We ran all both those matches without a single piece of paper to be found PLUS the score were nearly instantly updated for all to see without waiting for people to data entry it. It's definitely taking the Shotmarker system to the next level.

We just held our 2 day Nevada LR match and I spent half the time getting people back on to the system after they would fat finger their device. This new version would definitely take more time to set up in the beginning, but may save time overall as the results would be instant and not requiring manual entry into a spreadsheet. I think there would be a learning curve for us to overcome compared to how we use the system now.

Hopefully the next step will be the ability for MDs to pre-populate the config and/or shooter info from a CSV or json file. The UI looks pretty good, and I'd certainly want to be able to do 'ad-hoc' edits directly from the UI... but being able to import/export from programs purpose-built for data entry (spreadsheets, text editors, etc.) would be a nice extension.

All too familiar with that. People inadvertently close the browser tab or window in the middle of their string, and then depending on their tech level, can't get back. Or they fat-finger their display, and end up 'looking' at another target, and correcting off someone else's shots - and somehow that's *my* fault

I've been tinkering with the use (on my own device) of the "Fully Kiosked Browser" app to see if that would help alleviate some of the "user error" problems like that. Time will tell.

I have the shortcut on all of my iPads and iPhone which makes it very easy for me. But I am not an expert on all the different devices the shooters bring and like you, I or one of the other RO's get the mid string call for help, especially on the first few relays. Then it was 100 degrees and some would shut down due to over heating and would have to get another one set up quickly. Then somehow the "begin record" button gets inadvertently pressed before someone is ready to go for it. Made for a busy weekend but we made it.

Started going back thru the video... I know the thread is supposed to be about the new 'match' mode, but I'm at least as excited about the new stats available on the setup screen. Definitely more of a 'personal use' thing, but still... ;)

And let's not forget suddenly turning the grid on for some random reason in the middle of a match. That one always puzzles me.

I have shot 3 matches, pair fire and string fire, with the new software being used. It has worked very well each time. Problems on the line, crossfires ect., are quickly taken care of, usually in 30 seconds or less. Thank you Adam & Laura.
