Shooterdevil,
Another thought on uncontrollable variables...
Was the rifle brand new when you started these tests? New barrels seem to speed up over the 1st 100-200 rounds. Smarter people than me have noticed this. The only new rifle I have actual chrono data for was also a new Ruger 6.5CM during a 1/2-assed break-in period. Over a period of 2 weeks, in the same type of weather & temps, using the same lot of factory ammo, it increased c.150fps over the 1st 100 or so rounds before stabilizing.
That & small sample size... & maybe high expectations for your first foray into load development (the old loose screw behind the trigger syndrome). It happens. Small groups in the above mentioned Ruger were an exercise in frustration until I played with seating depth. Welcome to the rabbit hole.
Maybe this was mentioned already. I've only skimmed thru all the posts.
