Shot Marker (Review)

i finally decided to cobble together a stand for my SM. This will be used at 100 and 200 yards. It breaks down into two (soon to be 3 - sensor hub protection) pieces for portability from the club secure storage barn to the berm. Target frame weighs 25 lb, base weighs 45 lb. I will be adding a removable piece of 1/2” AR500 to sit in front of wherever I decide to mount the sensor hub.

Once the system has been calibrated once you do not need to recalibrate unless you switch the target frame, it appears that shot #4 is way closer to the rest of the group on the virtual target when compared to the paper target.
If you have a second (or more frames and bases) if you calibrate them, you can very quickly change frames if you make a log of the data. We did several tests to see how that would work and it was flawless, just change the frame dimensions and the offsets from calibration.

What are the dimensions of the target holding piece? (Your pic 1.) I assume this is a full size F-class target sheet? I'm starting to think about a frame and pros/cons of a full-face F-class target versus something smaller.

48” x 48”

What I built will be used for 100 and 200 yard High Power. Mostly offhand practice. The SR bedsheet measures 42” x 42”.

The MR1 / MR1-FC aiming black is 36” so if you wanted yes it would accommodate.

I would say 48” x 48” is fine if you are using artificial support. If you are a real rifleman and hold your rifle then you may want to err on the safe side for distances >300 yards and go go a full 72” square.

For all you folks that have posted pictures with your hub station exposed, see the link below. We went with these antenna cable extensions so we could place our hub units below the berm/line of sight. Gives us a better feeling with the new folks just learning:)

Strongly recommend this.

Thanks for the direct link. I believe that a similar one came prepackaged in the Shotmarker with velcro, and planned on using it once I get familiar with the setup and connectivity characteristics. Drew

Got to have it fit in the back of a Jeep Cherokee. I can only shoot to 500 here. I was thinking of getting something that will take a full 500 yard F-class target i.e. 37x37. If I don't hit it I will go back to shorter distances and practice some more.

It is only a aiming mark. I use a 300m aiming mark all the way back to 900 . Set the monitor for the distance you are on and get shooting. This makes it easier to carry the smaller frame around.

I can't find Coroplast here in sizes greater than 24" x 18". (Annoying because I had about 30 large sheets of the stuff in London which I tossed prior to the move last year.) The large sheets Home Depot has isn't Coroplast and nowhere near as solid. They do sell Komatex FPVC sheets in 24x36. This stuff seems more solid/rigid than Coroplast though. My frame has a shooting aperture of 21" square. Any thoughts on using this stuff?

Gas station Pepsi signs. They will probably give them to you.
