shooting the hummer 22 ppc

Have a new barrel on the Sako 22PPC. I hoped this barrel would shoot as well as the former one. Load developed with 322 and 8208 powders, and today shooting 40 grain nosler BT's, at about 3700 ft. sec/ with a definate howling wind in the canyon, this little PPC put some shame on my other rifles. Really nice groups as soon as I started shooting the 8208. thanks, Kreiger barrels.

I am wanting to switch to the 8208 with a 40 gr vmax what is your load for 8208? greg I have 2 22ppcs both shoot super with BLC-2 but I have 32 lbs of 8208 so when the blc runs out I will change g

+1 on sending target pics. Please tell us about the new barrel too; length, twist...and the load particulars.

I have a Cooper Model 21 that shoots great using Lapua or Norma brass. It loves H322 with 50 & 55 grain V-Max, and 52 grain Bergers. The throat is very long however...there is no way i could load a 40 bullet close to the lands.

pictures today if I can figure out the procedure, otherwise I think I can email them to you guys. the barrel is a kreiger, 14 twist, and I believe a 5r or something. I will have to check the gunsmith records with Bob Brackney , who lives in Wittenburg, Az, who chambered and placed the barrel on. hope I can get the pictures to you all.

barrel is 23 inches long, ,light varmint taper,14 twist, to make the 10.5 pound class, and I loaded 27 grains of GI 8208 powder with a small Federal match 205 primer. I was using a Leupold scope, 3.5 to 10 power. pictures to follow, measured groups at .3-.4 inches.

one more thing, the neck is a standard .255 neck, no trim, and I think I used a button sizer die of 250.

I have 2 ppc's how much 8208 do you use with the 40gr bullets I have 50+ lbs of 8208.. I use it in my 20 prat. (20/223) works great
