I have made one like that. Drilled a hole in receiving pipe big enough to weld a 1/2 inch nut to on the outside, then use a 1/2 bolt through nut and hole to tighten leg up . Real solid this way.
Charlie I made the angles for my bench legs the same way as you did, for the same reason. Atleast I know if I I make another one I can get angled brackets now. Definitely makes for a very solid bench. My bench looks very similar to yours, but I've got less pitch to my legs. That's a very stable looking setup. Pre-mfg brackets weren't available when I made my bench. I cut thick wedges out of a piece of oak and attached them to the bottom of the table at the correct angle. This allowed me to use readily available (threaded) pipe flanges. If you have expandable legs, it's easy to fashion a bracket on the bottom to hold them in place. They can then be used as a carry handle with the table closed up for transport.
Thanks all look nice all good informationHere are the brackets.

Why not make it adjustable?Another question how tall for say average size person should the the bench top to the ground length be ?
Mine is 32.25" / top of table to floorAnother question how tall for say average size person should the the bench top to the ground length be ?
Ok thanks I’m thinking about the same I’m only 6 foot but long torsoMine is 32.25" / top of table to floor
I also added ~2.75" to the Costco folding chair.. I shoot prairie dogs so any + height is welcome. I'm also 6'2".
If you go with Urban's angled brackets you will need to add to the length to offset the angle.. I did the math on them a looong time back..

Mine has a bit more angle on the legs. That's probably why hand tightening the legs works. Same color of carpet...must have been on sale...Charlie I made the angles for my bench legs the same way as you did, for the same reason. Great design, nothing beats it for prairie dogs. Swivel and shoot, sure beats moving the stationary table set up for every shot or two.
It ain't rocket science! If legs are not adjustable, how do you get 4 legs in firm contact with the ground?
My 3 leg levels easily. Much easier than the 4 leg I started with. How do you level it?

If the ground is soft I can see it. If it’s hard and very uneven guess I’ll need some rocket science. Unless you’re using a shovel. It ain't rocket science!
