Shilen barrel

Need some help...this is my 3rd Shilen barrel and I can’t get it to shoot! I’m using varget, Lapua brass and Berger hybrids cci 450’s. I’m 350 rounds in and can’t find the combination.

- This is probably going to raise a few eye-brows but here goes.
Send it back & get a refund or what you can re-coup and don't use their barrels ever again - Simple as.

I "heard" they "use" to make a good barrel. - Well I ordered one of their pre-fit 10-22 barrels (about 6-8 years ago) and who ever cut the ejector slot wasn't having a good day. - What really turned me "south" was when I called them and the responses that I got. - Needless to say the whole experience was lousy including the 8 weeks that I waited to get a refund. - I was treated like a "red-headed step-child" by their customer service which doesn't help me to be able to "like" their product. - They insisted that I didn't know what I was talking about and that I should "seek a qualified gunsmith" for this "daunting task" of installing their beloved barrel on a Ruger 10-22.
- I have No use for that, or their barrels after that.

There are plenty of good barrel makers out there to choose from and they don't have Lousy Customer Service folks either and they'll out-perform what Shilen is peddling.

Verifying twist with a cleaning rod is never accurate, there will always been slippage.

Stop the search you’ve found what your looking for!!!

You need to quit shooting that barrel and enter every benchrest match you can with it

To echo what Dusty said, I would only shoot that rifle in big matches. That’s great shooting if it/you can consistently repeat that.

Either that is the group of a lifetime or you have one badass setup. I have to agree with the consensus, consistant shooting like that will have you at the prize table every time!

Switched from Berger bullets to Bart’s.

What is the load and speed?

It’s 30 grains of varget, Bart’s infinity 105gr. Lapua brass with a cci 450. CBTO is 1.792. Running about 2850fps with an sd of 4.
