Shadetree rest top

Looking to get a new rest and was curious about the shadetree engineering coaxial rest top. Does anyone have experience with it good or bad?
Thanks

They are absolutely top notch. I used one in the F-Class Nationals this year and fell in love with it. Very good control and it doesn't jump around when the rifle is fired. Butch is a good guy to talk to and work with.

Another "Thumbs up" from me. I used a Sinclair windage top before switching, and I like the ShadeTree much better. And I got mine second-hand. The previous owner had added a bubble level to the top which is a nice touch. Edgewood bags will fit, and I had Protektor custom make me 2 bags for different fore-ends. I shoot a full power load .308 with 187 gr. bullets, and it had no problem with recoil. The rifle never tracked so well.
One of the added benefits I was not counting on was how well the post fit the opening in the Sinclair base. Took all the wobble right out of the rest.

Sent my old one back to Butch and had the new internals put in place, now it's better than ever these days...

Sounds like a good upgrade! B-day is coming up maybe I can talk the wife into it!

If she doesn't get you one for your birthday, get her one for her birthday! ;D

Seems like he Replaced springs and bearings, but it's been a while since I had it done.
It holds the weight of heavier barrels better anyways, and it's a heck of a rest....

What a great birthday. Got the rest top and got to try it out at the 600 yd nationals. Didnt win anything but didnt DQ and that was a feat in its self. I just want to say the rest top is awesome, it compares to all the high dollar coaxial rest. It is a joy to shoot off of. Butch is a great guy and very helpful. Thanks for your help.

Will this top wide enough to accept a 4 inch stock??
I recently put a 4" Edgewood Common bag on mine. I did have to move (redrill new holes) the pivot pins for the side tension ears. With the original location, the tension screws would barely make contact with the base due to the different angle caused from the wider bag.

I think he has tops that will handle about any width stock, mine are 5 inch wide and he has a top for that width stock

Bought a Shadetree top to go on a $99 (on sale) Caldwell rest/bag from Midway for the wife's AR
(22 Nosgar). Made a bag rider with a little weight (2.5 pounds). I'm a 'why buy if you can make it' guy.

11.5 pounds @ the front rest, 7.4 at the rear bag.
Should get to the range next week for her to practice. She's made it to Midrange Expert and wants to Master this summer. Flo-Rest.jpg
