Base for Shadetree Coaxial Top

I'm looking into getting a Shadetree Coaxial Top and wondering which may be the better base for it:

1. Bald Eagle Cast Iron Triangle base for $165, or
2. Sinclair Heavy Varmint base and mariner wheel only, for $229.

Anybody have opinions on either of these two, or any other recommendation?
I've read some mixed reviews on the Bald Eagle, but most of the criticisms were from the windage system, which does not apply here.
Trying to stay within this price range for the base, as the Shadetree top is an additional $375
Thank you

Either, or. Both will work just fine. For the money, the Bald Eagle is by far the better investment.

I have the bald eagle rest, the older version, but the new ones are also a good quailty and a good bang for the buck. If you are limited on funds that is all you will need as your windage and micro adjustment are right there, you barely move your hand.
If you want a shade tree on top of that, you are looking at around 600.00 total.
For alittle more money, say 800.00 you can get a used Seb coaxil rest and the resale will be more than you paid for it, but I doubt you would want to sell it. Buy once , cry once.
I guess it depends on what type of shooting you want to do. good luck

Finding a good condition SEB for $800 may take a while. As you stated, people don't usually sell them unless they've bought a new version.

Ive got one on a shadetree f-class base. Had it on a real bald eagle and hart before. With a lighter gun i needed a heavier base. The f class base is perfect for an f open gun.
