Sensor for temp, humidity, barometric pressure at Range?

As the title states, what are you using? I think I'd like to get something to play around with at the range to record my conditions. Thanks!

I phone maybe.

Kestrel 5700 Elite AB

Yikes. Was hoping for something more economical but better than using my phone.

They have many different models....if you don't need/want Applied Ballistics and AB Custom Curves you can get one of their lower models....there is a comparison chart of all their models and prices in the link below

A cheap 20 year old Radio Shack thingy and confirm periodically with weather station readings on cell phone. I have also used "windfinder.com" to get an idea of projected wind speeds and directions before a match, but this is a hit or miss proposition. It gets data from the nearest airport or weather station. Gives me a heads-up on where to place additional survey tape to left or right of range sidelines.

Phone is great as long as you have service everywhere and there is a weather station nearby. I keep a Kestrel 5100 with me. It's $279 at the link below

Thanks Mike. My purpose is to try to figure out what way to turn that device at the end of my barrel in a given set of circumstances, or adjust powder charge on the fly. I freely admit that I suck at the above.

That test I keep mentioning, answers all of those questions. I can't over state how important that test is. It just works and you do it yourself, so me or anyone else can't pull anything out of their butts. You shoot it and see it for yourself. IMHO, we are going down a slippery slope proclaiming air density as the MOST important factor. It is a factor but IME, not the most important. Tune is tune. Tuner or not so tuners should not change what we see as the determining factors in why we adjust powder charge or a tuner.

Everyone seems to be hanging onto air density like it's a magic pill. If it is, it always was and tuners didn't change that.

What test are we talking about? Thanks.

Kestrel 2500. Has ambient pressure, temperature, and wind speed. About $150 to $175

To add humidity, you have to go with the 3500 for $200.

Atmospheric pressure and temperature get you most of what you need. Weather station at home gets humidity if you think it matters.

I bought a cheap weather station on Amazon. Keeps track of Temperature and humidity and other things if I want to use the attachments - wind speed and direction etc.

I have a couple of these. One at home and one in the camper for matches. They are both within a couple points of a much more expensive weather meter I have.
I guess if you believe 2 or 3% difference makes or breaks your tuning you should maybe purchase a better unit.
Joe

I’ve used Strelok Pro and my iPhone for quite a few years and have never felt I’ve been at a disadvantage to a Kestrel.

The only down fall is if you end up someplace where phone signal is hard to get.

I also have a weatherflow weather meter that bluetooths with iPhone and Strelok.

Gives all the goodies you need for about 100 bucks.

If you are shooting often beyond 1000 yards then I believe the Kestrel will begin to be advantageous for you.
