Secure gun transport in Truck Bed Options?

I would like to find some way to store and lock firearms in the bed of my truck for transport to range. Any suggestions?

I used a decked system for a while in my f150. With a locking tailgate no way to open the drawers to access them so they stay secure if you go in to eat or stop asking the way.

Truck vault. No one is getting into it without time and power tools. Stealing the truck is more of a concern.

This company makes custom vaults. Pull out tray on rollers with dividers. Mine is 14 high by 18 wide and 2 inches short length of bed. Has feet to bolt to floor bed. You can see front feet to bolt down on left/right front. Cost was $1500 delivered to NC. Look at their website. you can build any width, height or length. Mine has key lock and padlock. I use to haul two case O/U shotguns in hard cases or three scoped rifles. Worked great on range days and two elk hunts.

I use my Jeep Grand Cherokee and just fold the back seats down.

I understand that. My first paragraph showed the safe option; on the floor of the back seat. There is zero cost on the floor or back seat. Besides, a cover eliminates the utility usage of the bed. I had one on the bed of my last RAM P/U. I used to shoot Rockchucks out of the bed, just standing in the bed. Covers eliminate that feature.

he's pursuing the multi-thousand dollar option. That's in lieu of a new custom action. Having had a cover on my truck eliminates the bed as a bed.

One thing you should consider is the fact that the empty bed of your truck is the roughest riding part of the vehicle.
