I'm loving my #1, damn thing resolves a couple flake of ball powder. The deflection time for a balance beam is controlled by magnets this can be different from scale to scale. But the Redding #1 is controled but oil and in my opinion is quicker then the magnet scales. But I am still a newbie.
Bro the Parker Redding #1 helped me make my purchase of the Charge Master Link this allows me to speed up my process for pistol and have a trusted check system. My plan is to incorporate this when i get the Hornaday Lock an Load set up for when I want specific pistol loads at high volume.I'm loving my #1, damn thing resolves a couple flake of ball powder.
I've got 2 older 10-10's I was thinking about having tuned, but figured I'd never use them after the Redding #1.
But you feed that scale buy hand and this can get time consuming. Personally I am trying to streamline my process. Just saying.I hate to say it, but they make digital scales +/- 0.02gr now….sensitive to a couple kernels of the smaller ball powders…..just saying.
not trying to be mean ......but the Chinese scales are JUNK. Sorry but this is FACT! Do your Homework and you will see that the Ohaus made RCBS scales are worth Tunning.Parker will only tune American made scales. I have a Chinese 10-10 RCBS and an American made Redding #1. I much prefer the RCBS 10-10 over the American Redding #1 so I bypassed the Parker option.
I hear you,,,,,,,,the Charge Master Link may make my beam scales a trophy case.........but i am ok with that........LOL..... But my Redding #1 is my go to thank you S. Parker!I'm loving my #1, damn thing resolves a couple flake of ball powder.

I gave my Brother in law an older 10/10 he is getting into the game. I checked it with the Redding #1 and it was very good but took longer to get settled down. this Redding #1 is amazing!I'm loving my #1, damn thing resolves a couple flake of ball powder.

No he aint! Plenty of us who can do the same thing. Not rocket science for those scales! Not to my knowledge he is the beam scale master.
You are entitled to your on opinion with the tunning of your own scales. If it works for you that is fine. But dont think this will work for everyone. Consitencsey is what we strive for. I own many Beam scales and have cleaned and tuned them to my personal ability. I have yet to reach the leavel thai my Parker Tuned Redding #1 does time after time.No he aint! I have not hat this experience with Mr Parker I am aware of others. He has always come through for me.Do your research. Scott Parker can certainly tune a beam scale when he wants. So can others. Unfortunately, Mr Parker has a stellar track record of not delivering on the product you send him. Perhaps he has changed his ways, but personally, I would never do a deal with him that I could not verify he had the item ready to ship, with proper documentation, and pictures to prove it. At that, I would be a skeptical, but possibly willing to risk it. Too many years of bad reviews on service for me to invest no matter how good the product once finally received.
I am not. Due to the many reports of issues reported by others I did reach out to Mr Parker several years ago and was completely unimpressed by his response to my concerns. I therefore did not further pursue one of his projects. To those of you who have received one of his stellar tunes, I congratulate you. From all reports, you have one of the finest beam scales available. If he had a scale available for sale, I might well have purchased one. Based ion numerous searchable reviews, I would never send him a scale to tune for fear of not receiving it back in my lifetime. If things have changed, I would suggest Mr Parker present himself for discussion of his past issues. Are you speaking from personal experience ?
With all due respect my 10-10 is not junk. I have probably been using beam scales longer than you have been alive.not trying to be mean ......but the Chinese scales are JUNK. Sorry but this is FACT! Do your Homework and you will see that the Ohaus made RCBS scales are worth Tunning.
Does that speak more to the skills of Mr Parker, or the lack of your own? I personally have many skills, the ability to tune a beam scale is not one of them. You are entitled to your on opinion with the tunning of your own scales. If it works for you that is fine. But dont think this will work for everyone. Consitencsey is what we strive for. I own many Beam scales and have cleaned and tuned them to my personal ability. Congratulations. You have been the recipient of one of the finest tuned beam scales available due to all reports I have read. I still stand by my statements and call on Mr Parker to address his past issues personally.Speaking from personal experience, Scott has delivered a quality product in a reasonable time three different times and even expedited one for me so I could use it for the Nationals.
