Scope ring weights - help

Purchased a new-to-me rifle and I'm excited about it. Seller indicated that complete rifle setup weighs in at 18lbs 1 oz. I shoot FTR, so that's a little too close for comfort for me, but first-things-first.

Entire rifle package was shipped to me except the scope (NF15-55) and rings (NF XH 30mm). I have same scope but different rings. I've tried to find the weights of the below rings to see where I'm at, but I cannot find these data.

1) Burris XHigh Sig Zee rings with inserts
2) NF XHigh rings (A109) steel
3) NF 1.375 Ultralite rings (A110)

Any help?

Don't know about the 1.375 U/L, but the 1.265 U/L rings weigh 3.73 oz (got weight from NF) and the 1.125 weigh 3.63 oz (weighed on my FX120 scale). I would guess the 1.375 would still be under 4 oz.

Thanks! Where'd you find the weight for the 1.265?

I called NF when I was trying to figure out weight of components for my rig. If you call them, they can give you the weight of the 1.375 rings, too.

Did you weigh the rifle yourself?

Nope, Don't have access to an accurate scale that can do that much mass until I do a match in MN and that would be April at the earliest. Figured that I could just get close if I get a weigh difference between scope rings. Not ideal, but should work provided the quoted weigh is an accurate number.

Do you guys weigh yours prior to your matchs in LA and TX? Might be a good excuse to head down there for some shooting now that its turned cold up here. "Hey, honey, be back in a bit. Gotta go weigh my rifle......":D

Left Fargo this morning for a match near MN. It was -20oF. At the match was a balmy -4oF. Luckily we shot from indoors onto electronic targets at 300m.

Drew,

Go to your local UPS depot or store. Or maybe a meat market. I weigh my stuff at the UPS store and the folks in there love seeing my rifles. Their scales are certified by the state and are considered very accurate.

Or you could come down here to the desert and weigh it in my local UPS store. :)

Now you're just teasing me. Enjoyed meeting you in AZ in Oct. Wish I could sneak out there again next month. Look forward to seeing you again, sometime. Thanks for the idea of UPS.
