scope ring torque

I just purchased 30mm rings from Precision Quest Products for my 2500X on dovetail. No torque specs came with. Wondering what torque is recommended.

I usually do 18lbin.

Torque will be different on the base side and the cap side. I agree with post #2 on caps but go no more than 25"lbs on base screws.

Notice it says "lubricated".

I "lubricate" mine with the purple Loctite #222.

If lacking a good torque wrench, just hold the short side of a L-shaped allen wrench to turn in the cap screws with one hand; pretty hard to overtighten this way.

I normally torque rings to 15 inch pounds.
