Scope mounts for a .22 LR firearm.

This is a question requiring your opinion. I'm about to mount a scope on a rifle and am interested in preferences for different mounts. So far I'm considering Picatinney/Weaver and Leupold. Which do you prefer? And why do you have that preference?
The scope will be mounted on a Rem 513-T made in April 1940, and the maximum distance will be 100 yards, Initially I'll be competing with myself. Who knows what that might lead to~! The scope to be mounted will be one of the these. B&L Balvar 6-24, TASCO World Class 6-24, a BSA 6-24, or Sightron 6-18.

If you choose to use rings for a rifle with a grooved receiver, I would suggest BKL rings. They are made in the U.S. They are nicely CNC machined and anodized aluminum rings. I have never had them mark a scope. They will fit both 3/8" and 11mm grooved receivers.

You can Spend More,.. But,. . "Why" ??

Actually Weaver Pic Rails, Say MADE IN USA in bold which I like.
and work just fine for for about $50 bucks
even if they may be made from 6061

CCOP is also one brand I have tried (some steel 34mm rings) and was very happy for the price they offer everything at
Under $100 when other brands seem to jack prices up according to their name
like BADGER, SPUHR etc.
CCOP is also in the USA and are home based in Pamona Calif.

I never thought about weight. That is important to me because my 513-T weighs 9 pounds by itself. Thanks for bringing that to my attention~!

I use Burris Signature rings on all my firearms. Either with a Weaver style base like snert, or the rimfire versions if the rifle isn't drilled and tapped.

It doesn't seem to me that the rifle makes any difference when it comes down to ring and mount quality, stability, and durability~!!

Well that depends if you are calling the base a mount or the mount as in a one piece set up holding the scope. Seeing as you were speaking about picatinny or weaver then that sounds like mount to you is the base that mounts to the rifle. In that case the rifle is very much a part of the answer.

I suppose you're right. I do already have a set of Weaver Picatinnys for the Remington 513-T and a of set quick removable rings, but thought their might be alternatives that were more aesthetically attractive. I think the Picatinny is butt-ugly.

You mean Weaver brand or Weaver spec? Two different things. A weaver and picatinny base look almost identical. Post a pic of what you are talking about.

I wouldn’t put quick removable aka QD rings on anything. I put a scope on and it stays on. Also one more thing to wear and loosen. A properly torqued set of rings would be my recommendation.
