SCIATICA Losing mobility is a pain.

THANKS for all the replies. The physical therapy has really helped along with using the inversion table. I only use ibuprofen to help me sleep so pain pills will not be a problem. I use a cane for short distances and have found that I can
stand up for maybe 10>15 minutes before needing to sit. Using a four wheel walker with a built in seat allows me to cover greater distances with a lot less pain and fatigue. Trips to the range will start next week using my 22's at 100 and 200yds. The 6br and 6.5x55AI rifles weigh a lot more so I will be patient. Surgery will definitely be a last resort after reading many of the previous posts. Like I said before "Getting old is not for sissies".

That's great news hearing that ibuprofen is working for you. (mine is aspirin) It will take time but your mobility should get easier/better as time goes by. The .22 is a great rifle to stay in shape with and take your mind off of other things for a while. Shooters are by nature very competitive people and this is just another competition that you have already shown that you will win.

Did someone mention not to sit on a wallet? That will aggravate it for sure. I got rid of my wallet and got a little nylon camera case that I hang on my belt. It holds all my usual wallet stuff plus a flash drive, my work desk key and a dongle thingy that generates a number I use to log in to work from home securely. If anyone tries to rob me, I'll tell them that it's a colostomy bag. Most people think it houses my cell phone, which I don't often carry.
