Thats the issue, this barrel never shot well, always grouped rounds touching and a few and inch away touching, thats what lead me to purchasing a borescope i wanted to actually see if something was going on. I believe the barrel wasnt properly stress relieved at the factory. I also get really heavy copper fouling at the end of the barrel aswell heavy brass shavings on the bolt face, i think thats the extractor causing that issue. There is also a few spots with heavy tooling marks on the lands on the bore. I plan on lapping the barrel but i am going to be replacing this one soon.
Not concentric to the bore. Wow I would never of caught that. Now I have another thing to look for. Thanx Alex. ArrrghThats your freebore section, you can tell its not concentric to the bore as one on those lands was not totally cleaned up by the reamer. Very common in a factory rifle. Dont worry about the fire cracking if its still shooting good.
