Thats your freebore section, you can tell its not concentric to the bore as one on those lands was not totally cleaned up by the reamer. Very common in a factory rifle. Dont worry about the fire cracking if its still shooting good.

Isn't it interesting how a fouled barrel can give you a moment of pause when it exploits all the little fissures, firecracking and any other anomalies and when it is completely clean, you don't see most of it. As Alex stated, don't worry about it if the barrel is still shoot well. Don't let that scope play with your head. Have seen a lot of that in these forums.

Most of that would clean up with a good proper cleaning. A good soaking carbon solvent followed by a bronze brush then short stroked with some iosso or jb on a patch will go a long ways.

Thats the issue, this barrel never shot well, always grouped rounds touching and a few and inch away touching, thats what lead me to purchasing a borescope i wanted to actually see if something was going on. I believe the barrel wasnt properly stress relieved at the factory. I also get really heavy copper fouling at the end of the barrel aswell heavy brass shavings on the bolt face, i think thats the extractor causing that issue. There is also a few spots with heavy tooling marks on the lands on the bore. I plan on lapping the barrel but i am going to be replacing this one soon.

Must be the reason that the barrelmakers love borescopes.

I have a 6BRX with way more erosion than that and it is still shooting good. Bad as it looks on my rifle you think it would need setting back but it shoots great.
