Borescope revelations

I've a question that is likely to not be well received.

To those of you who say bore scopes only sell barrels . . . do you drive after dark without headlights, reasoning that the illumination only attracts obstacles?

Some say deer are attracted to headlights, after all . . .

An over-simplification, to be sure. But if a look down your barrel with a bore scope causes you to shoot poorly with that barrel on your next outing, or drives you to send it off for re-barreling, well . . . .

Com' on. I don't buy what's being sold here.

A little bit of history on this topic would probably help. After the Lyman Borescope was introduced there was a flurry of threads on this site about this and that manufacturer's barrel, how bad they looked or why did they look like crap but still shoot. Some threads, members posted photos from the Lymans asking if the barrel was any good, this before they were even chambered. So some of what's been posted here are inside jokes referenced to` those threads. That and context is sometimes lost on a forum.

If you really want to see some carnage in a bore look in M16 bbls just past the gas port.
