SavageShooters Forum Shutting Down

Very sad to hear as I had just joined there recently .
Running a site can be very demanding , lots of time and money .
Had a friend of mine had an audio site and said the worst part was all the baby sitting he had to do.
Lots of not nice people out there .
By the way , thats how I wound up here.
This site was recommended as an alternative for Savage shooters,

Sadly this is posted:

Notice: Effective 8/30/2025 I will be shutting down this site. After 24 years of operation the time has come. This is a decision I have been facing for the past 6-8 years now as both user interaction and revenues have continued to decline, and keeping it open just doesn't make fiscal sense at this point.
Dates to Note:

6/1/2025 - Paid Subscriptions and New User Registrations have been disabled

8/1/2025 - New posts in the classifieds will be disabled

8/30/2025 - This site will shut down and no longer be accessible
It’s sad when people don’t support their favorite sites enough to keep them alive. The same can happen here. The leftist forces rejoice when gun related sites go down. ALL IT TAKES FOR EVIL TO WIN IS FOR GOOD MEN TO DO NOTHING!!
You want to throw some mud in the faces of Hockul, Sanders, AOCortez and others like them? Donate to your favorite gun site!!!

I was one of those that was on Specialty Pistols but never really moved on to Savage Shooters. The real bummer about losing these forums is all the knowledge that goes away with it.
A few of us have put together a new forum recently. Come check it out. You’re likely to recognize several members.

Certainly. However having a group out there that are now ‘site less’ would surely be enticing.
Does adding another section require an injection of funds? Would these funds be offset by the increase in members?
Of course I have NO idea but it seems a great deal of the administration time is trying to control the classified section. Being scammers or outright crooks. Phony names, addresses, non existent products etc.
Then again being outshot with your many thousand dollar action by a guy with a savage action may not appeal to some.
My first experience with any kind of rifle was with a Savage lrpv in 6br. I still have info from this site on loading for it from early days. I eventually got a new barrel shoulder fit. I will say, some of the smallest groups I've ever shot were with that thing. Are all my customs nicer/smoother? Absolutely. Still, that thing amazed me and quite a few others.
I gave it to my son.

My first range rifle was an LRPV, 7 twist .223. Still shoot it regularly out to 500 with 2,000+ rounds down the pipe. Except for the common Savage somewhat heavy bolt lift ( not an issue for me, not that bad and I shoot it slow anyway), has been flawless functionally.

Found out about this site from Savage Shooters after it's closing was announced. Thanks for accepting this old guy here. Shot 40 Xs for ever and migrated to Savages 3 or 4 decades ago and found they can really shoot with the right trigger monkey at the helm and do as well or better than anyone ever thought. Have been known to snooze in the prone waiting for range flags to settle down.IMG_2848_zpsdtnpskwi.webpRange.jpgSavage .308 7.jpgSavage .308 8.jpg Whatta Hobby!

Welcome over! Nice to find a landing spot with SS shutting the doors. You’re gonna love this site. Be sure to check out the main page and all the info it offers too!

Just love the back yard!!!

I joined Savage Shooters in 2017 when I was thinking about getting into reloading. Ended up buying a custom Savage 6br that would agg with a good ppc at 100 and immediately became hooked!

Hate to see the site go.

Last night I got the message that the site was down for maintenance.
This morning, I got this......Before i delete my bookmark, I'll hold off for
further looks to see if there will be guidance to an archive site......

IDK, when I found Savage Shooters..since the time, a year ago, when I bought my first Savage target rifle, I made a number of posts (same nom de plume) and I found there was very little posting going on. For some reason other than supporters, the site was not attracting traffic like RFC.

I would go along with a sub-forum for Savages,
