Savage triggers

A recall for safety reasons doesn't sound like quality to me. Larry

Stick with your Savages then. I own both and can tell you first hand that Thompson/S&W machining is light years ahead in quality when compared to Savage. Inside and out.

Have you ever looked at how a Savage Accu-trigger engages the sear and how the tang safety prevents it from firing??? One quarter turn of the hex screw holding the safety adjustment and somebody is dead. Savage factory triggers are not only the most worthless and cheaply thought out designs in the gun industry, but they are also only barely safe enough to pass inspection. The accutrigger was an improvement to safety, but still a joke of a design no doubt.

Yeah, like Remington never had any trigger/ safety issue's.

They must have something going for them I see Remington must think so also the new 783 has a blade trigger along with a nut. Larry

It has NOTHING to do with being a good design. It's because it is the absolute CHEAPEST way to produce a rifle and still have it shoot half way decent. Look at the price of that 783 rifle. Remington is just trying to get a piece of the pie in the "cheap rifle" market.

I'm not saying Savage rifles cannot be very accurate because mine surely are, but they are made with poor casting and mediocre machining. And there's no denying that.

I guess a forged steel bar and cnc machining sucks. I think you have the guns backward. TC is made with investment castings. Because of the external shape. Good Shooting Larry

I have Savages and Remingtons. No Accutriggers. I have always been able to adjust the Savages to get a crisp and lighter trigger pull. If you search for adjustment instructions they are available.

That's not really the point. It's the quality with which it is administered.

But back to the thread subject; No matter how you talk up Savage triggers, they still are what they are. You can polish a turd all you want, it's still a turd ;)

I have two evaluations they work well . But I can polish and tighten up red trigger and make it 6oz. If you learn how to shoot other then your mouth their fine. Good Shooting Larry
