Gentlemen:
After many years of shooting Metallic Silhouettes I have finally decided to try my luck at Benchrest. I just finished building a 6 PPC on a Searcy action but I can't find a short profile 700 trigger that will fit this gun??? All of my other triggers i.e. Canjar, Jewel and Shilen have a dimension from the centerline of the mounting pins to the bottom of the trigger housing of 1.4". I need a trigger where the housing is 0.75" or less. Any help out there??
Just another comment: I once owned a single shot titanium action Silhouette pistol that had a 700 short profile trigger. I thought it was a Jewel but they tell me their 700 triggers are 1.4" tall on the housing as well?? Now I wish I would have pulled that trigger from the titanium gun.
The gun was built by Ron Freshouer.
At this juncture I'm revising this posting as 89 readers have reviewed it with no responses. Therefore, that would indicate that nobody out there has an answer to my dilema. So some of you may find the following helpful. I spoke with Ron Freshouer today and the trigger that was on my pistol made by him was also of his design and his manufacture. All you need to do is buy one of his pistols and you get a short profile benchrest quality trigger. So I called a friend of mine that makes competition triggers for mid-grip XP-100's and suggested that we modify one of his triggers and suggested how it could be done. He agreed that my suggestion would work and is going to make the modifications. End of story.
Thanks,
MartyWS
