Is there a place to buy a Savage model 10 action only? I can't seem to find one. I would like to slowly build up a switch barrel gun off of an action alone. I don't want to have to spen the money for an entire stock and then toss most of the parts that I don't want.

I know you can find the target actions relatively cheap. haven't seen the model 10 for sale anywhere though.

may call Jim Briggs at NSS. He may know or have some. Get the target action. You can get them at TGSS or Brunos or NSS etc. for good prices.
BigDMT - That's kind of what I thought the answer would be after spending a few hours googling.
savageshooter86 - Thanks for the resources. Not really interested in a single feed though. This gun won't be for target shooting. It will more likely be used as a hi quality varmint reduction tool.

All my savage builds came from pawn shops.
Then barrels and tools from Jim at Northland
I can usually find them for 350-375 with the accutrigger
The important thing is to plan your build. Make sure you know the difference between the different models as you cruise the gun shops.

Dont rule out the model 12 repeaters. ex. model 12bvss. It comes with a nice stock and stainless fluted barrel. you can usually sell the stock and barrel quick on here.
Jim Briggs at Northland Shooters handles the non-designated action which is a model 12(Varminter) with DBM and a light accutrigger. I have one and love it but their availability is sketchy. Give him a call.
