Original post also mentioned trigger mechanisms for Savage 12. Like barrel replacement, trigger removal / installation is straight forward on this model. 1.) find short pin holding the Accutrigger mechanism in place. Push the “c” washer horizontally out of the slot at the end of the pin with a small flat blade screwdriver (cover washer with a finger tip to keep it from flying). Remove pin and Accutrigger. 2.) find the longer pin holding the release and safety. It has a head on the end next to the spring. Push the pin out with finger tip or punch. Hold the spring with a finger tip to keep it from flying. Remove the mechanism. 3.) slide the linkage and the serrated finger tab of the safety out of the action. Reassemble in reverse order. I found only one video showing these operations.
There are lots of videos showing bolt disassembly / reassembly. One tip I found helpful was to use a battery powered impact driver the first time you remove the fastener from the end of the bolt assembly. I bent an Allen wrench trying the static approach the first time.
