I know we have gotten off track here...lol
But M-61 was nice enough to drop me a line and let me know that NGKs puts their own coatings now from the factory and to not recoat them as per their instructions.. Good to know and to keep an eye open for moving forward that some companies are addressing this problem... Thanks M-61 and everyone..

As long as we are on the subject.. Wouldn't the copper never seize be a better choice for barrels than the silver?? I think its made for more demanding circumstances... But maybe it's just over kill I am pretty sure everyone uses the silver.. I know Glock uses the copper on their slide rails for long term lube or till you clean it one time..lol

I came here After learning what I needed about automatics mainly the m-16 platform thinking the bolt action world would be easy.. Wrong.. I think Theres more to these rifles than the others especially for long distance or maybe it's just me.. I mean growing up in the south we had a rifle in our hands at about 7 years of age so I grew up hunting and shooting. We were not allowed to have pistols my dad said they were only good for one thing so I picked that up during law enforcement training and it just stuck..
